From mother and daughter · Our story

A studio built by a family, for families

At Sway, we believe dance is best when it's shared.

We're a family-owned studio built on heart, belonging, and community, where every dancer builds real friendships, their confidence, and their love of movement. Trophies come and go. The Sway family is forever.

We're building our dream studio: one where dancers feel seen, parents feel valued, and every dancer walks out a little more confident than they walked in.

About the founders

Dance didn't just shape who I am

It showed me who I was meant to become.

10+Years as a competitive dancer
★Award-winning dancer & choreographer

My name is Ms. Jessalyn, and I have been a dancer for as long as I can remember. What started as a love for movement became something much bigger: a calling, a community, and ultimately, a purpose.

I was fortunate enough to grow up in a dance studio that gave me far more than technique. It gave me a family. A place where I was seen, challenged, celebrated, and loved. That studio shaped the dancer I became, but more importantly, it shaped the person I became. And I never forgot that.

Over the past four years, I have had the privilege of teaching dance, watching young dancers discover their strength, their artistry, and their confidence right before my eyes. Every single class reminded me of what dance did for me, and how deeply I wanted to protect that experience for the next generation.

"I know what it feels like to have a studio that changes your life. That is exactly what I intend to give every dancer who walks through our doors."Ms. Jessalyn, Co-Founder & Lead Instructor

That is why I opened SWAY Dance Company. Not just to run a studio, but to finally build a dance family of my own. A place where every child who walks through our doors feels exactly what I felt growing up: that they belong, that they matter, and that this is their home.

My vision for SWAY has always been bigger than classes and competitions. I want to create an environment where dancers grow not just in their craft, but in their character, where they learn discipline, resilience, teamwork, and the kind of confidence that follows them far beyond the stage.

Ms. Jessalyn

Built on love · Behind every dancer is a family

To every parent who walks through our doors: I see you. I know the sacrifices you make so your child can have this experience. You are not just dropping your child off at a dance class. You are giving them a gift that will shape who they are for the rest of their lives. At SWAY, your family becomes our family. That is a promise. Ms. Jessalyn

My mom, Lisette, has been my rock through every leap, every late-night rehearsal, every competition morning, and every tearful drive home. She didn't just support my dance journey. She lived it with me. She knows firsthand what it means to be a dance mom: the early wake-up calls, the costume fittings, the hours in the audience cheering at the top of your lungs, and the quiet sacrifices that never make it into the highlight reel.

Because of her, I grew up knowing what unconditional support looks like. And because of her, SWAY exists today. This studio is something we are building together: a mother and daughter united by love for dance, for family, and for this community.

My name is Lisette, and I am a mom first, always. I have four children, and two of my daughters grew up in dance. That means I have lived the dance mom life from the inside out: the early mornings, the competition weekends, the bobby pins and hairspray, the tearful wins, the devastating losses, and every ordinary rehearsal in between.

And I loved every single second of it.

Not because it was easy, but because watching my girls find themselves through dance was one of the greatest gifts of my life. Dance gave them confidence, discipline, friendships, and a community that felt like family, even for me. It shaped them. And as their mom, that meant everything.

"There is nothing quite like doing something you love with the people you love most. Building SWAY with my daughters is a dream I did not even know I had, until it became possible."Ms. Lisette, Co-Founder & Director of Operations

So why SWAY? Because I know what dance moms carry.

I have sat in the confusion of unexpected fees with no explanation. I have felt the stress of not knowing what my money was going toward. I have wondered whether my daughter was truly seen by her teachers or just another number in a roster. I have felt the frustration of being kept at arm's length from a world my child was pouring her heart into.

And I have also felt the magic: the pride that makes all of it worth it.

That full experience, the good, the hard, and everything in between, is exactly why I am here. At SWAY, I am the voice of the parent inside the studio. My mission is to make sure that every mom, dad, or caregiver who trusts us with their child never has to feel confused, overlooked, or undervalued. You deserve transparency, communication, and the same love and care we give your dancer.

Program overview

Our Competition Team is built on technique, discipline and character.

Dancers are personally invited by our teaching team based on their growth and commitment in class. Talent is only part of it. We look closely at how each dancer works, takes corrections, supports their teammates and approaches every rehearsal. The result is a team that trains hard, performs with confidence and lifts each other up.
